How we work
Brilliant Journal aims to make curiosity rewarding without asking readers to take our word for everything. We use clear language, show the boundaries of an explanation and take responsibility for correcting mistakes.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual claims against suitable sources before publication and aim to explain how a conclusion follows from the information presented. We distinguish established information, interpretation and uncertainty. We do not invent observations, interviews, credentials or sources; if a claim cannot be supported to a suitable standard, we revise or leave it out.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for the publication's readers, not as a hidden favour to a partner. Any relevant relationship that could affect how a piece is read will be disclosed alongside the material. We do not promise favourable coverage in exchange for access, payment or collaboration.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific, actionable reports, check the point in question and correct material when warranted. Where a meaningful change affects an article's substance, we make the correction clear in the article rather than silently changing its meaning.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, supplied or partner-supported material is identified clearly where it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when an illustration is AI-generated, we label it as such. Illustrations are not presented as photographic evidence of real events or places.
Curiosity is a way of paying attention.
A good question can turn a familiar walk or an ordinary object into something worth noticing. We follow the details without pretending every answer is final.
