Pitch a piece
We welcome pitches that begin with a lively question and lead to a clear, carefully bounded piece of curiosity. A strong proposal shows what readers will notice or understand, not merely what topic it will mention.
What fits
We are interested in focused explanations, comparisons, background pieces, myth checks and occasion-based explorations that suit general readers. A contribution should have one central idea, a distinct route through it and a useful takeaway grounded in explanation or observation.
What to include
Send a short outline through the Contact page. Include a working title, the main question, the point you expect readers to take away, the shape of the piece and any sources or expertise the subject would require. Tell us if the idea depends on first-hand reporting, specialist review, images or other material.
Scope and care
We do not seek pitches that require readers to make professional medical, legal or investment decisions, carry out hazardous work, or rely on rules that vary by location. Please do not send a complete unpublished manuscript unless we have asked for one. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
Curiosity is a way of paying attention.
A good question can turn a familiar walk or an ordinary object into something worth noticing. We follow the details without pretending every answer is final.
